Harry Seidler, a giant of Australian architecture who fought for the modernist style, and won.

His first project was to build an open-plan, box-style sandstone house for his mother in the Sydney suburb of Turramurra, which is now a museum. In the 1950s economic boom, he fed demand for functional housing and city offices.
